Michael Buckley is a shareholder in Jones Vargas, where he has practiced law in Las Vegas since 1975, primarily in the area of real estate and commercial transactions. He is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. Michael and his wife, Cathy (Busch), are the parents of four children, all of whom graduated from Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas.  The oldest three graduated from Jesuit universities in the West, while youngest son, Thomas, an Eagle Scout, attends Loyola University of Chicago.  Daughter Mara Buckley Puliz, a theology graduate of Seattle University and master’s candidate at the Franciscan School of Theology in Berkeley, teaches religion at Bishop Manogue High School in Reno.

Michael is the oldest of nine and Cathy is the oldest of five, all of whom, other than Michael, graduated from Bishop Gorman. Michael has been active in many State Bar and non-profit activities over the years and is a former member, and past chairman, of the City of Las Vegas Planning Commission and the Block Grant Commission of the State of Nevada Department of Human Resources. He is currently serving as chair of the Nevada Commission for Common-Interest Communities established by the Nevada legislature in 2003.

Michael and Cathy were active for many years in Catholic Engaged Encounter in Las Vegas and Michael is currently a lector and eucharistic minister at Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church.
