“Joan Chittister: Her Journey from Certainty to Faith”

by Tom Roberts

Sister Joan Chittister is recognized internationally as a leading reformer of religous life, an inspiring advocate for justice and peace, and a forceful crusader for women’s rights, who refused to be silenced.  In this intimate biography, Tom Roberts reveals the interior Joan Chittister: the young survivor who witnessed years of domestic violence, who found both refuge and purpose in her religious vocation. Her body of written work is a profound expression of spirituality and women’s concerns of this era.

Tom Roberts is editor-at-large for the National Catholic Reporter, where he has worked for over twenty years.
