In this Advent season, living in a digitally noisy age can be an obstacle to preparation for a deeper spiritual experience.  If you’re looking to meet God in the quiet places of your life, we invite you to participate in the ancient contemplative practices of visio divina (sacred seeing) and lectio divina (sacred reading). Combining both practices for deepening prayer and mediation, we will be using a sacred painting with New Testament Scripture from the Gospel of Luke. Activities will include seeing, reading, meditating, praying, contemplating, and sharing. With all of our senses, we will explore the contemplative approach to seeing “with the eyes of the heart” and hearing “with the ear of the heart” to explore the mystery of Jesus’ incarnation and our own journey of transformation and a deepening relationship with the Divine.
