CONTEMPLATIONS in CLAY: Creating Sacred Space
w/ Coby Lyons, Ph.D.

  • A program of four (4) 1.5-hour sessions where the participants will create their own Sacred Artifacts out of clay. The group will co-create a temporary “spiritual community” while learning and making a sacred vessel. The program will include contemplative prayer/meditation, personal reflection, and altar making.
  • At the conclusion, participants will have gained the following:
    • A fully finished (fired and glazed) ceramic item (sacred vessel)
    • How to create their own sacred space that supports and honors their own personal path
    • Learn some simple contemplative practices that can be used at in and outside the home
    • How to use common prayers as contemplative mantras for deepening their spiritual journey
  • DETAILS:
    • COST: $100 Tuition (15% discount if paid in full by Mar. 13, 2020)
    • DATES: Mar. 25, Apr. 1, Apr. 8 and Apr. 15  **As of 3/16, this session is still scheduled**
    • TIME: 11:30 am – 1:00 pm

Brief Bio about Coby Lyons, Ph.D. (c):  Coby is a ceramic sculptor & former Catholic seminarian, holds Masters of Arts in Pastoral Ministry (Oblate School of Theology, San Antonio, TX) and in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology (Naropa Univ., Boulder, CO). He’s a trained instructor of Mindfulness Meditation (1996), a Reiki Master/Teacher (March 2003), studied Buddhism (1997), and trained in Hospice work. He created and facilitated this program in his MA Internship (2002-2003), and has adapted it to include working with clay. He is currently a doctoral candidate in Integral and Transpersonal Psychology at CIIS, San Francisco, CA. Coby currently owns The Mudroom Studio (NV).
