Art, Madness, and Transformation
(A Clay-Based Hands-On Intensive)

“Alas for those who cannot sing but die with all their music inside them.”

Art, Madness, and Transformation” is a hands-on clay sculpting workshop that utilizes a variety of clay exercises designed to promote personal and spiritual healing, growth and change through deepening self-awareness.

In this day and a half intensive, participants will be guided in re-connecting with their unique creative gifts by working in clay and encouraged to embrace their “Shadow” in a challenging yet safe and supportive environment. Our “Shadow” represents our unconscious thoughts, beliefs, and emotions that block us from realizing our fullest potential as spiritual beings.

YOU WILL:

  • Re-discover and Re-claim your unacknowledged creative potential.
  • Access material buried in the Unconscious in order to integrate and transform it.
  • Learn how to use the “language” of symbolic expression of our soul.
  • Discover the process of art making as a healing force.

No previous experience with clay or art required. Open to all!

PARTICIPANT ACTIVITIES:
Friday Evening, guests and participants will be introduced to the workshop goals and format. There will be a 2-part lecture discussing creativity, the “Shadow”, and how to awaken, heal, and integrate them as a means for deepening self-awareness and one’s spiritual path. Time for discussion and Q & A following the talk. (This evening is open to all and mandatory for Saturday’s participants.)

Saturday, each participant will create by hand a series of small 3-D sculptures that will embody levels of energy that are typically unavailable in our conscious lives. No prior experience in any kind of art is necessary. The only requirement is to “to step through the doorway of the workshop and be PRESENT.” (For the optimal experience, space is limited to 6-12 people. Morning and afternoon refreshments are provided; please plan to bring your own lunch.)
